“ I'm a bit puzzled by the hype around Killiney Kopitiam. Sure, the atmosphere is lively, and it's a great spot if you're just looking to sit back, relax, and chat over a cup of coffee. The toasted kaya bread is definitely a standout--crispy, buttery, and paired perfectly with that sweet kaya spread. But when it comes to the rest of the menu, I don't really get why it's so popular. The food is fine, but honestly, it's pretty average, and I feel like you could get similar dishes that taste just as good (if not better) at a lower price elsewhere. I wouldn't say the food is bad by any means, it's just not worth the premium prices they're charging. If you're after a quick, delicious bite, there are definitely more affordable spots around. Would still recommend for the kaya toast and coffee, though! ”
“ The OG Killiney? After my obsession with Kaya Toast and Singaporean Coffee from Ya Kun, fellow Singaporeans said I had to try the OG Killiney and took me here to try! I liked it, almost as much as I liked Ya Kun. Killiney gives you an OG feel. The coffee and toast distinctively different than what Ya Kun offers, gives you a more "homey" feel. And the fact that they also offer noodle dishes makes this location a great place to visit to enjoy not just breakfast but also lunch. Parking is street parking and may be tricky. Great place to visit. They're opening one in San Jose, but I fear it just won't be the same. ”
“ Always the no.1 choice in my list as compared to yakun (yakun has better marketing i guess). The authentic breakfast. The french toast and their mee rebus. Love everything about this place except for the parking ”
“ Had to stop by this well known chain that I heard was a must try in Singapore! Went here back in October and ordered the curry chicken with a french loaf (SGD$7.10) and coffee-o (SGD$1.70). The french loaf does not come with kaya so ended up having to go back up and adding this for a small up-charge. The seating area is casual and quaint - a lot of people seemed to be taking a lunch break here. Definitely a different experience than eating at Ya Kun Kaya Toast (which has a very modern feel and an easier menu to order off of), but I really appreciated the meal options at Killiney. The curry chicken was hearty and delicious, would recommend! If I were to come again for lunch, I would probably skip having the kaya toast (although the french loaf was nice to have with the curry). ”
“ Awesome coffee, toast is bomber and the lakasa sooooo good! Don't forget to wait in the queue before walking up to the cashier we made that mistake! ”
“ This place became our daily morning ritual on our trip to Singapore, for some reason we were up by 4am almost everyday, and with waking up came the hunger.. a quick search in yelp showed this place open, it close to our hotel so that was a plus as well, and so we went... the food was great! It was tasty and inexpensive, the place was clean enough, my only gripe is that they don't give you any napkins (I noticed a lot of places here don't), so if you are messy eater like myself, bring some on your own, other than that our experience here was more than satisfactory, it fed us when we were hungry at an odd time in the morning, it was tasty, cheap, and clean enough... the Chicken Curry was easily the best dish! Would definitely recommend. ”
“ I didn't know such old-school kopitiam still exists today, and right in the heart of Orchard Road at that! I was having a post-wedding staycation at Lloyd's Inn, and the stay includes a breakfast set at this place. We came late and coincided with the lunch crowd who were mainly there for some after-lunch coffee/tea. We ordered the simple toast set/french toast set which was simple and yet so filling! My french toast set had egg mixed in with the bread and layered on top, with kaya and a slice of butter on the side. It reminded me of my primary school days breakfast that my grandma made for me; I vow to recreate this at home next time! I also ordered the Ginger Tea sans milk and it was very 'hot' (in my tummy) and strong; good for removing excess wind in the stomach. Will certainly drop by this place again if I'm craving some good 'ole toast and coffee/tea! A tip is to come here before or after the lunch crowd (say before 12pm or from 145pm onwards). ”
“ Yes, yes, and more yes! Simplest breakfast foods ever, but SO GOOD that I had it twice during my stay in Singapore. Kaya Toast, soft boiled eggs, and soy milk with grass jelly cost no more than ~5 SGD!!! Walk up to the counter, order, pay, sit down, and out comes to the food. Nothing fancy, just plain and simple. This place is an institution and has a lot of history to it. Great to visit and to try especially how cheap it is. This one is also the original in Singapore, so def visit. Consider also getting a jar of the kaya spread. You can even try to make it yourself at home. I did. *___* ”
